Christopher Reeve was the embodiment of the American dream of a man who could do anything. The actor, director, screenwriter and producer became famous for his performance as Superman, for which he was awarded a BAFTA. Combining his film career with participation in equestrian sports, the "superman" lost the opportunity to lead a full life due to a spinal injury, but did not give up and spent the rest of the days doing his favorite profession and helping people with spinal cord injuries.

Christopher D'Ollier Reeve was born on September 25, 1952 in New York and was the eldest of 2 children of writer and scientist Franklin D'Ollier Reeve and journalist Barbara Pitney Lamb. Without graduating from university, Christopher entered the Juilliard School of Art, where, along with the outstanding actor Robin Williams, he entered the class for advanced students.

After completing his BA in 1974, Reeve played briefly on Broadway and at the Circle repertoire theater, and then made his screen debut in an episode of The Gray Lady Goes Deep. In the film business of the late 1970s, the main ambition of the actors was to appear in the title role in a top-grossing film by an outstanding director.
